Our Foundress

Foundress of the Congregation of Jesus We, the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus have, as our inspiration and inheritance, the vision of Mary Ward, who is our Prophetic Foundress (1585-1645). Mary Ward was born on January 23rd 1585, in Elizabethan England, at the time of the great religious intolerance. As a woman of great faith that she was, she saw the need for a sound religious education. Mary Ward (23 January 1585 – 30 January 1645) was an English Catholic nun who founded the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was declared "Venerable" by Pope Benedict XVI on 19 December 2009; this is the first of three steps on the path to being declared a saint.

About School

St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Manak Nagar, opened in 1964, at the request of the Ministry of Railways. What began as a small primary school has flourished into a well-established College, providing education for children from Preparatory to Class XII (ISC).
This school is run by the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus in collaboration with a dedicated and competent Staff.
This institution aims at providing a through education according to Christian Principles, to bring out the best and noblest qualities in children, so as to make them good and loyal citizens. Admission is open to all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
We, the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus of the Allahabad Province, in collaboration with the staff, renew our commitment with the pioneering spirit of our Founders, Mother Mary Ward, to bring about the Kingdom of God through our Education Ministry.
