Head Boy's Message
St. Mary's Convent Inter College St. Mary's Convent Inter College

In the name of God, most Gracious, most Merciful.

If I am to understand who I am , I must first shape something from this nothingness, carve my seal into this void of a desert. The desert is indifferent; it remembers no names, no footsteps, nor it’s legacies. Yet, if I am to endure, my conduct must define me. Not just mindless toil, but deliberate, unwavering effort. Every grain of sand I lift must serve a purpose. For if I falter, I dither, I may just become everything that came before me – another person lost to time.

Thirteen years ago, a pair of tiny steps ambled through the very gates of SMCIC, apprehensive of what was to follow. With beginnings as humble as these, it is inconceivable to think how those tiny steps have now become assured strides. It is inconceivable to realise how the very badge of the school we used to wear on our bosoms, permeated deep within to be etched on our very hearts and inconceivable still is all that this beautiful journey has done to us.

The compassion, the kindness which distilled in its purest form to build a family of trailblazersnow demands us to reciprocate in service. The countless bonds forged and those lost in time, the years and years spent inrefining, the countless leaps of faith all flash before me in an instant , reminding me of who I was , and what I have become , then a St. Marianwho would find himself in tangles of uncertainties and even now a St. Marian but one who is proud to be chosen as it's head boy, someone whom people may look upto and not someone who looks down upon them.

Dear St Marians, I dream of making this sacred institution a haven of love, empathy and peace. Where diversities are cherished and we help uplift one another. I wish to be the mirror in which you see a better version of yourself. And I want each one of you to know, that in every struggle, every joy and every experience – WE ARE TOGETHER. That is what I stand for. A St Mary’s of unity, integrity and humanity. And I call upon you with a clear call to join hands with me in the pilgrimage of hopewhich we have together chosen to be a part of.Where wings of hope soar high in the skies of possibilities. Let us redefine education for the better. An education that instills compassionate intellect and not selfish intelligence. An education where each discipline is respected and every person who imparts us knowledge is honoured. Such is the St. Mary's I dream of and pledge my loyalty and service to.

In a moment as emotive as this, gratitude seems to be the most befitting expression. This voyage would not have been possible without it's helm in the hands of God. To the school management, I am truly grateful for the ceaseless encouragementthey provide in all our ups and downs, turning every endeavour into a beautiful lesson. Reverend Sr. Marina, our principal has been the guiding light that empowered us to become better version of ourselves in our thoughts, words and actions. Dear parents, thank you for all your prayers and guidance which have been our constant companion.

Our dear teachers, whom we have often thanked for shaping our academic outlooks, but seldomfor the innumerable times they have been lenient towards our shortcomings and havechosen to impart morals over reprimanding. To my cabinet, Know, thatif I be the ship, you’re my sails. Know , that if we’ve made it this far together, then, in unity shall we dwell for the rest of our journey in this abode of learning. And finally dear St. Marians, thank you for making our experiences enriching, challenging and beautiful. Let us join hands in undertaking the noble mission of leading with truth, piety and sincerity.

As we strive with hope to move onwards and upwards from darkness to light, let truth alone triumph so that our Efforts spell successin All for the Greater Honour and Glory of God.

Amen

Thank You
Arhaan Hasan.

“The real difficulty is to overcome how you think about yourself.” - Maya Angelou.

Commencing with these enlightening words, my heart is full of love and pride, as the head boy of this phenomenal Institution of moral values and positivity. I can still recollect those golden days of childhood, spent in the premises of this school. It was just like a mother's womb which keeps the child safe and protected, and carries on the development. In the same manner, the sacred portals of this Institute kept me protected from all the vices and inculcated in me perseverance, honesty, responsibilities and - "self confidence". Being invested as the head boy, gives me the opportunity to be an leader and guide for all the St. Marians. To set an example of beautiful comradeship and progress together to become better versions of ourselves. For this, I extend my sincere gratitude to the entire school management for providing me the platform, to display my skill of leadership and all my dear mentors, who found the calibre in me and encouraged me in all these 13 years of my memorable school life.

To have a sense of our duty towards the school environment and the world, is the need of the hour. Therefore, I invite all my dear St. Marians to join me in the sacred mission of transforming the world, through noble works of kindness, empathy and love.

Together, we can achieve the motto of our Institute - “Effort spells success”.

Thank You

“The best leaders have a high consideration factor. They really care about their people”.

I feel privileged to be the Head Boy of this great temple of learning. It has been twelve years since I entered the gates of St. Mary’s, as a mischievous boy in my childhood who has now become the Head Boy. I thank the entire school management all my dear teachers who helped and supported me to be what I am today.

“Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily, even if you had no title or position.”

Dear St. Marians, working together, we can bring out the best in each one of us. The congenial environment of SMCIC is a boon for all to showcase their talents. The discipline for which this school has been known over the years is now the responsibility of every student to learn and practice. Every student is a potential leader who steps out when duty calls. We the youth of today have to take the initiative in transforming the society. Being firm in our actions and precise in our decisions, we can make a difference. Even further, if the enthusiastic young minds and experienced souls unite, we together can build a better future and change the outlook of the entire globe.

Beginning with my step, I will do my best and work along the School Cabinet, to uphold the motto of our school “Efforts Spells Success”.

Thank You
